Arrests clear more Hancock County break-ins, ATV theft

CARTHAGE, Ill. - More arrests have been made in Hancock County, Ill., as a result of a two-month investigation into a string of thefts and burglaries in the county, according to Hancock County Sheriff John Jefferson.
David J. Mann, 20, Tioga, Ill., was charged with theft Thursday in connection with the Nov. 7 theft of a 50cc four-wheel ATV north of Tioga .
Robert J. Stephenson, 31, Keokuk, also was arrested Thursday with theft of a motor vehicle and theft under $300 in connection with the ATV theft. The stolen ATV was recovered and the investigation continues.
His bail is $10,000.
In a related matter, Terry D. Neill Jr., 25, West Point, Ill., was charged with felony theft for allegedly taking copper wire valued at more than $1,000 from Western Illinois Electrical Co-op in Carthage, Ill.
Neill is being held in the Hancock County Jail on two counts of felony theft for allegedly possessing two compound bows stolen from Bear Creek Bow Works in Wyanconda, Mo.
Neill also is being held on a Missouri warrant for burglary to the bow shop. His bail is $75,000.
