Central Lee High School presents Disney's ‘Beauty and the Beast'

DONNELLSON - “It's a tale as old as time,” when Central Lee High School presents Disney's “Beauty and the Beast.”
The award winning musical will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 23, and Saturday, March 24. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students and will be available at the door.
Liza Alton and Jason Woodley direct the show.
In this musical, Belle, played by Natalie Staudte, runs away to find her father, Maurice, played by Chris Carle, and to avoid her unwanted suitor Gaston, played by Ethan Taube.
She stumbles upon an enchanted castle where her father is being held captive by the Beast, played by Joe Sallen.
Enchanted castle inhabitants, including Lumiere, the candelabra, played by Matt Contreras, Cogsworth, the clock, played by Ryan Van Ausdall and Mrs. Potts, the teapot, played by Hannah Seyb, hope that Belle is the one who will break the spell so they will become human again.
“Beauty and the Beast,” which is based on the Disney movie of the same name, opened on Broadway in 1994.
The show features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by the late Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and book by Linda Wollverton, author of the original screenplay.
Favorite songs include, “Be Our Guest,” “Gaston,” “Human Again,” “If I Can't Love Her,” and the title song, “Beauty and the Beast.”
The musical is produced with permission from Music Theatre International.
