n The first Back Alley Bandfest featuring eight bands will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Keokuk.
The bands and their locations are: Under Perfection (rock/pop/punk/alternative) at 627 Grand Ave.; The In-Betweens (rock/punk) and Cavitation (heavy metal) at 5 Park Place; the Bullis/Reuter Band (big band) at 524 N. Third St.; The Commanders (old standards) at 206 High St.; The Stretchy Geckos (alternative) at 113 Concert St.; Street Theory (classic/progressive rock) at 422 Concert St.; and Created (Christian) at 511 Blondeau St.
Maps will available this evening at Keasling's Pharmacy and Gifts, 1414 Main St.
The event sponsored by the Keokuk Cultural and Entertainment District is free with band “tip cans” at each location.
Friday and Saturday
n Top cyclists race up the crookedest street in the world during the 25th annual Snake Alley Criterium in downtown Burlington.

n The 20th annual River Arts Festival will be held on Main Street in Hannibal, Mo., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

n Montrose Riverfront Inc. will present its second annual cemetery walk from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Montrose City Cemetery. The rain date is Sunday.
Former Montrose residents featured on the tour include Harriet Winthrow Miller Hough, Judge Franklin Ballinger, Charles Brown Sr., Henry Gerboth, J.P. Kennedy, Emily Wilson Vanosdoll and Manasseh Reeves.
Tickets cost $7. Children under 12 will be admitted free with an adult. Call 319-463-5960 or 319-470-2023 to reserve a time or preference.
Sunday
n The annual Keokuk Memorial Day service will be held at noon at the Keokuk National Cemetery.
The cemetery director, Keokuk mayor, state auxiliary president and American Legion state commander will speak. Wreaths will be laid at the tomb of the unknown and Medal of Honor recipient.
McNamara's Band and Dan Proctor will provide musical entertainment.
n The Central Lee High School commencement will be held at 2 p.m. at the high school.
Monday
n The Quincy Park Band will present a Memorial Day Concert at 2 p.m. in Clat Adams Park along the riverfront in Quincy, Ill.
The band directed by Pam Potter will play each of the five service themes.
Other selections will be “Midway March,” “Just a Closer Walk With Thee,” “Hymn To the Fallen,” “America the Beautiful,” “Amazing Grace,” “West Point March” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever.”
