Around the Tri-State Area this weekend

Today, Saturday and Sunday

Burlington Steamboat Days continues with Credence Clearwater Revisited performing at 8 p.m. today.

Martina McBride will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Ted Nugent is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Other activities include Kids' Day today, parade at 11 a.m. Saturday on Jefferson Street, Talent Show finals at 2 p.m. Saturday, Snake Alley Art Fair at 8 a.m. Sunday and fireworks following the main stage show Sunday.

The carnival is open today and at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The beer and wine garden is open until 1:30 a.m. today, from 4:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday and from 5 to 11 p.m. Sunday.

Saturday

A culinary journey celebrating Mark Twain will be held at three homes in Keokuk.

Each of the homes in “A Culinary Journey Celebrating the Writings of Mark Twain” will be decorated to depict a Twain novel as well as a buffet and refreshments reflecting the novels.

The locations open from 6:30 to 9 p.m. are the Al and Pat Zastrow home as Aunt Polly's House, 710 N. Seventh St.; Bob Woodburn and Janet Smith's home as “Camelot,” 810 Grand Ave.; and The Grand Anne Bed and Breakfast as the “The Captain's Table,” 816 Grand Ave. Chuck Mitchell will portray Stephen Foster at the latter location.

Dessert and champagne will be served in the Round Room of the Keokuk Public Library-Keokuk Art Center from 9 to 10 p.m.

Tri-State Area churches, ministries and believers will come together at FreedomFest from 2 to 10 p.m. at Nauvoo State Park in Nauvoo, Ill.

The list of bands and performers includes Southern gospel singer Marvin Cook from 2 to 3:30 p.m.; Lift, a contemporary worship band, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., interpretive dancer Jasmine Tobias from 4:30 to 5 p.m.; Corban, a Christian rock band, from 5 to 6 p.m.; a Macomb, Ill., youth band from 6 to 6:30 p.m.; Dale and Michelle Henze Ministries band Breakthrough from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Selepri Amachree, music and testimony, from 7:30 to 8 p.m.; the youth band Believing in Autumn, from 8 to 9 p.m.; and the youth band and light show, 2:42, from 9 to 10 p.m.

A mud volleyball tournament will start at 2 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday

The Pride of Montrose Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday on the grounds of Montrose Riverfront Inc. along the riverfront at the corner of First and Chestnut streets in Montrose.

Along with the 50-year reunion of the Montrose High School 1957 softball team, several items from the old high school will be on display.
