The first Keokuk Independent Film Festival continues at three locations in Keokuk. All activities are free and open to the public except for the banquet Saturday and breakfast Sunday.
Today's schedule includes a weapons safety workshop at 3 p.m. and choosing music for your project workshop at 3:30 p.m. at the Grand Theatre. Entertainment will provided at the Grand Theatre from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Saturday's activities include a Fashions Through the Ages Fashion parade at 10 a.m., film screenings starting at 11 a.m., a special showing of “Dual” at 1:30 p.m., a weapons safety workshop and stunt demonstration at 3 p.m., historical costuming workshop at 3:30 p.m. and movie makeup workshop at 4:15 p.m., all at the Grand Theatre.
A banquet and awards ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Meyers' Courtyard.
Sunday's schedule includes breakfast at the Hawkeye Restaurant at 9 a.m. and showing of the winning entries at 1 p.m. at the Grand Theatre.
The 60th annual Tri-State Rodeo continues in Fort Madison.
Officials are expecting 24,000 people to watch more than 300 contestants compete in seven rodeo events, including saddle riding, bareback riding, team roping, cattle roping, barrel racing, steer riding and bull riding.
Joe Nichols, who released “Man with a Memory,” will provide the stage entertainment tonight after the rodeo performance at 7:30 p.m.
The rodeo parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and go down Avenue G.
Bill Currington will perform after the rodeo Saturday night.
