Clark County observes homecoming

KAHOKA, Mo. - The Clark County R-1 High School Indians are celebrating homecoming this week.

Students are dressing up for school this week. Monday, students could wear hats and shades (sun glasses) to school.

Tuesday was class colors day. Freshmen were encouraged to dress in orange, sophomores in blue, juniors in green and seniors in school color of red and grey.

Today students wore bow ties or neck ties to class. Thursday is crazy day and Friday is school colors, red and grey day.

The pep rally is at 8 p.m. today.


The Indians play Knox County at 7 p.m. Friday in Kahoka. The homecoming dance follows the game.

Selected as candidates to the homecoming court 2007 are:

Seniors Emily Stewart, Brenna Buford, Chloe Bertschi, Hayley Yates, Jacob Smith, Ryan St. Clair, Scott McAfee and Alex Shaw.

Juniors Melissa Jerez, Allison McDaniel and Yvonne Brown.

Sophomores Cady Flood, Kristy Yates and Bailee Brooks.

Freshmen Emylee Redding, Courtney Carter and Angela Christy.

Victory recap

Last week, the Clark County football team shut down Tri-Rivers Conference foe Brookfield 35-2`1 in Brookfield.

Quarterback Ethan Allen got the Indians on the scoreboard with a 12-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Ryan Roberts then added the extra point.

Clark County's other touchdowns came on Allen's six-yard run, Javis Vineyard's 25-yard run, Allen's 45-yard pass to Schutte and Erick Arnold's 12-yard run.

Clark County improved to 4-0 overall and in the conference with the victory.
