Hamilton, Ill., resident killed in crash with semi

NAUVOO, Ill. - A Hamilton, Ill., resident was killed in a two vehicle crash Tuesday on U.S. Highway 96 about one mile south of Nauvoo, Ill., just north of Bluff Woods Road.
Gloria K. Moon, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Moon was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus. Her two passengers, Mae Walters and Lyman Moon, were seriously injured.
Walters, 84, was life-flighted to a hospital and Moon was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The Illinois State Police had no details this morning about where Walters and Moon were taken for medical treatment.
Moon had been driving northbound on Highway 96, followed by a 2005 International semi driven by Dennis M. Schulte, 41, of South Amana.
Moon slowed down and pulled off the highway onto the right shoulder. Schulte changed lanes to pass.
Then, according to the state police, Moon pulled onto the roadway and attempted a U-turn in front of the semi. Schulte hit the Taurus on the driver's side.
