Family Read Night slated at Hancock County libraries

Family Read Night is sponsored by Jesse White, Secretary of State and State Librarian and is celebrated annually in Illinois on the third Thursday in November.
It is a statewide event where families are encouraged to spend quality time reading together.
This year's theme is “Celebrate Good Times: Read Together!”
Carl Sandburg College Family Literacy is co-sponsoring three events in area locations.
The first event will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Carl Sandburg College - The Branch Campus in Carthage.
The Carthage Public librarian will read stories. There also will be crafts, and a chance for every family to make a holiday wreath. Every child who attends will receive an age appropriate book.
Warsaw Public Library's Family Read Night is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15. Every family will have the chance to make a craft, play games, read together and listen to stories.
Nauvoo Public Library's Family Read Night is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15. Guest reader will be local artist, Jim Topic.
Families will have the chance to read at the library or check out books to read at home. A craft, snack and door prizes will be offered at all Family Read Nights.
