Paul reportedly sets one-day money record

Many of the so-called lower tier candidates for presidents bemoan the fact that “it's all about money” when it comes to securing the nomination for the highest office in the land.
But Congressman Ron Paul, R-Texas, found out recently that his supporters were willing to put their money where their hearts were.
On Sunday, Dec. 9 - the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party - the supporters called for what they call a “Money Bomb,” with the goal of raising as much money as possible on the Internet in one day.
The result was a reported single-day record $6 million, eclipsing the $4.2 million raised for Paul in early November on Guy Fawkes Day.
According to a press release, Trevor Lyman, a Paul supporter, traveled the country that day in a blimp. The aerial billboard had messages on both sides: “Who is Ron Paul? Google Ron Paul” and “Ron Paul Revolution.”
Lest you try to think of which billionaires have recently cast their support for the 10-term congressman, area supporter Joel Wyrick said the support came from the grass roots.
“He's taking money from individuals, not lobbyists,” Wyrick said.
And not just Republican individuals, according to Fort Madison supporter Paul Hellman.
“He's getting people from all across” the political spectrum.
The median donation was about $50 per call.
