Central Lee student seeks help with school project

Published: Friday, March 7, 2008 11:35 AM CST
I'm Archie Hardin, a seventh grader at Central Lee Middle School. This year, I'm doing Community Problem Solving (CMPS) and my project (N.O.I.S.E.) is to decrease the high sound level in the cafeteria during lunchtime.

I have been working with my principal, Kim Kirchner, and have done some research on ways to improve this problem. I hope to purchase flat screen televisions, a stoplight sound meter, a stereo system and circular tables.

Even though I probably won't be able to get everything this year, I hope to purchase the stereo system and stoplight sound meter by the end of this school term.

Central Lee Elementary and Middle School students will benefit from a lower sound level, calming background music and an environment where they can socialize during their lunchtime.

I have been working on ways to help raise the money I need for this project. I have a yard sale/bake sale planned for the end of March. I also have a K-8 dance confirmed for April 4 and a Hat Day scheduled to help raise money for my project. I'm asking local businesses and organizations if they would be willing to donate to my project. I would greatly appreciate any donation you could give.

If you have any questions, call me at 319-837-6378.

Archie Hardin,

West Point
