Shuman completes successful freshman season
QUINCY, Ill. - Courtney Shuman, a freshman from Kahoka, Mo., completed her first season as a member of the Quincy University women's basketball team.
Shuman, a 5-11 forward, made seven starts and played in all 30 games. She averaged 4.4 points and 4.0 rebounds, while averaging 14.8 minutes a game. Shuman shot 41.3 percent from the field and 64.1 percent from the foul line.
Shuman ended the season with a 10 point, eight rebound performance against Missouri S&T in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Region Tournament.
Shuman scored a season high 14 points against Robert Morris on Dec. 14. She also had a season high nine rebounds and three steals against Drury on March 1.
Quincy University finished the season 20-10 overall and 14-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Lady Hawks were 13-1 at Pepsi Arena.
