HonorBound Men's Conference is April 19 in Keokuk

Men who are interested in picking up tips about fathering are invited to attend the 2008 HonorBound Men's Conference from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 19, at the Holiday Inn Express, Keokuk.
The goal of the conference is to help fathers to be winners at connecting with and guiding their children throughout life.
The six presenters are Pastor Chris Mann, who has two children ages 4 and 2 and another one on the way; Tim Tillman, who has three girls and a son; Brent Gatton, who has three sons; Ron Manske, who has three adult children and three grandchildren; and Charlie Osbon, who has four adult children and two grandchildren.
Tillman is a sales representative for the John Deere dealer in Carthage, Ill. Gatton works for Alliant Energy and serves on the Keokuk School Board. Manske is a church consultant with Transition Ministry Impact. Osbon has worked for Decker Manufacturing for 14 years.
The following sessions will be covered:
n Practice Laps: Preparing for Fatherhood.
n The Pit Crew: You Cannot Win Doing It Alone.
n Winning the Pole: The Essentials of a Good Start.
n Drafting: Stay Close to and Follow the Leaders.
n Sling-shot: Knowing When to Take the Lead.
n The competition: They'll Try to Steal Your Trophy.
n Protect Your Partner: Supporting Your Wife.
n Watch the Wall: Keep Focused on the Race.
n The Red Flag: It's Time to Make Adjustments.
n The Black Flag: Breaking the Rules Can be Costly.
n The Yellow Flag: You Will Encounter Crashes.
n The Green Flag: Restarting After a Crash.
n The White Flag: Nearing the Finish Line (teens).
n The Checkered Flag: Winning Feels Good!
n Victory Lane: The Rewards are Phenomenal.
n Winner's Interview: Drawing of door prizes and conclusion.
Door prizes will include two tickets to the Brickyard 400, two tickets to the Indianapolis 500, nine 28-by-40-inch NASCAR driver banners and two nights on a weekend in the tower suite at the Grand Anne B&B in Keokuk.
The first 200 paid registrants will receive two tickets to Family Night at the races at the Lee County Speedway.
Registration is $7.50 before April 10, $10 from April 10-17 and $15 after April 17. Registration includes continental breakfast, snacks, manual and door prizes. Call 524-5423 or 920-517-4499 to register.
