Nixon ends golf season at state meet
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Clark County sophomore Zach Nixon finished tied for 78th at the MSHSAA Class 2 Boys State Golf Championships at Deer Lake Golf Course Tuesday.
Nixon opened with an 82 on Monday. He finished the tournament with a second round score of 97 for a two-day total of 179.
Jace Long, a senior from Dixon, won the state title with an even-par 71-73-144. Jordan McLaurin, a senior from Arcadia Valley, was second with a 73-73-146. Jared King, a senior from Lawson, finished third with a 72-76-148.
Ash Grove won the team state title with a 311-325-636. Cameron took second with a 336-324-660, and Arcadia Valley finished third with a 335-330-665.
