Pitch, Hit and Run local results

As many as 40 participants competed in the Pitch, Hit and Run competition hosted by Hoerner YMCA Saturday, April 26.

Brody McGhghy, Damon Wolter, Dylan Diveney and Ryan Kemp were the overall winners in the four age divisions. They will compete in the sectional competition in Davenport Saturday, May 31.

Sectional all-around champions become eligible to qualify for the team championships to be held in St. Louis.

Pitch, Hit and Run is a baseball skills competition that allows youngsters to showcase their talents in pitching, hitting and running with scores determined by individual performances in each skill level.

Results are listed below.

Ages 7-8


Overall: Brody McGhghy, Keokuk.

Pitch: McGhghy.

Hit: McGhghy.

Run: McGhghy.

Ages 9-10

Overall: Damon Wolter, Keokuk.

Pitch: Luke Chatfield, Keokuk; Wolter; and Kolton Marlin, Keokuk.

Hit: Ethan Blaise, Keokuk.

Run: Marlin.

Ages 11-12

Overall: Dylan Diveney, Hamilton, Ill.

Pitch: Diveney, Nolan Ard, Carthage, Ill.; and Ryan Egley, Keokuk.

Hit: Diveney.

Run: Diveney.

Ages 13-14

Overall: Ryan Kemp, Keokuk.

Pitch: Kemp and Brittani Miller, Kahoka, Mo.

Hit: Miller.

Run: Kemp.
