Around the Tri-State Area this weekend
Friday
The sixth annual Burlington Steamboat Days Wet Your Whistle Party and seventh annual Cruise Night is from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday in the Memorial Auditorium parking lot in Burlington. Both events are free to the public.
The Rock Around the Block kicks off at Central Park in Mount Pleasant, starting at 5:30 p.m. with Kevin "BF" Burt and the Blues Instigators. The event also includes food and kids activities. Admission is free.
The first Des Moines County Riding Club Open Horse Show of the year is set for 7 p.m. in the Southeastern Community College Agri-Sports Area in West Burlington.
Saturday
A Farmers' Market will be held from 6:30 to 11 a.m. in the River City Mall parking lot in Keokuk.
Fruits, vegetables, plants, crafts and baked goods will be available.

The Kropdusters Car Club presents its second annual Rust Revival Car Show at 8 a.m. next to Reed's Bar and Grille in downtown Wayland, Mo. Every car in the show must pre-date 1965.
Ground will be broken for the new Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Ill., at 2:30 p.m. one-fourth mile south of the Highway 336 Carthage interchange.
Sunday
The LaHarpe, Ill., Cemetery Walk is from 2 to 4 p.m. at the cemetery in LaHarpe. Admission is free. Motorists should enter the west entrance of the cemetery and park on the road by the mausoleum.
