Potential flood impact
The National Weather Service says the current flooding in Iowa, Illinois and Missouri will have the following impact at the predicted crest levels:
Mississippi River
(Up river)
Keokuk: At 24 feet water affects low lying buildings in Hamilton, Ill., and affects Highway 136 near Mississippi River bridge. Water also affects sewage treatment plant in Keokuk ... At 26 feet water affects the railroad tracks in downtown Keokuk.
Burlington: At 24 feet water affects the Port of Burlington. Water also affects Main at Division.
Muscatine: At 22 feet water affects Mississippi Drive at Iowa Street.
Rock Island, Ill.: At 20 feet water affects the Quad Cities Sports Center parking lot. Water is over the top of the jetty at Lindsay Park Yacht Club. Water affects buildings at Sunset Marina in Rock Island and Moline's River Drive from the 2300 to 5500 block.

Canton, Mo.: At 18.6 feet Green Street floods in LaGrange. At 19.5 feet US Highway 61 and Highway B flood in LaGrange. At 24.5 feet crest on April 24,1973. At 26.5 feet this level is expected to be met or exceeded on average once every 500 years.
Quincy, Ill.: At 22.1 feet Bonansinga Drive at Bob Banget park floods. At 23 feet old Highway 61 8.5 miles north of Quincy floods. At 23.5 feet County Highway 7 in Quincy south of Parker Heights park floods. At 28 feet the City of Quincy begins sandbagging. At 28.2 feet damage begins at the Quincy water treatment plant. At 29.7 feet the Indian Grave levee is overtopped. At 29.9 feet this flow level is met or exceeded an average of once every 200 years.
Hannibal, Mo.: At 23 feet the area south of Collier Street and the east side of Sycamore Street outside of the Hannibal flood wall floods. At 24 feet Highway 79 south of Hannibal floods. The armory on Collier Street and industrial buildings in southwest Hannibal outside the flood wall begin to flood. At 27 feet a few businesses along the riverfront outside of the flood wall are either cut-off or inundated. A large portion of downtown Hannibal is cut-off. At 28.6 feet crest on April 25,1973. At 29.6 feet this level is expected to be met or exceeded on average once every 200 years.
Des Moines River
Keosauqua: At 30 feet water is at the base of the Hotel Manning.
Iowa River
Iowa City: A railroad embankment has given way at Coralville.
Columbus Junction: At 31 feet water is at the bottom of the Iowa Highway 92 bridge. Water is also on the west approach to the Iowa Highway 92 bridge.
Wapello: Water affects unprotected areas of Wapello.
Mississippi River
