Around the Tri-State Area this weekend

The 18th annual L-Bird Convention takes place at the Keokuk Municipal Airport/Lindner Field.
The public is invited to come to the airport and see planes that have been used as liaison and spotter planes since World War II.
A pancake breakfast will be held from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The bomb drop and spot landing competition begins at approximately 11 a.m. Saturday.
Crazy Days with the theme “Picture Yourself in Keokuk” occurs in Keokuk with a Mark Twain Look-Alike Contest and other activities.
People may vote for their favorite celebrity, “Mark Twain,” with change, dollars and checks. Voting containers are located at several participating businesses.
The All-Saints Relay for Life team will have a concession stand at Estes Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

The South Lee County American Cancer Society Relay for Life will be held from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Keokuk.
The event is a time to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember those who have been lost and get inspired to fight back against cancer.

The Nauvoo Pageant core cast performs “Our Story Goes On” at 4 and 7 p.m. at the Grand Theatre in Keokuk.
The musical story of family is love is highlighted with well known favorite songs from Broadway musicals as well as original works.
Free-will donations will be accepted. All donations will go directly to Main Street Keokuk, Inc. to benefit its community betterment programs.
