Goldie to play basketball at Quincy University
QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University women's basketball team has announced the addition of Daryle Goldie to their 2008-09 team. Goldie, a 5-7 guard from Canton, Mo., recently graduated from Clark County High School.
“We are very excited to add Daryle to the roster. I think she will really surprise people in the player that she will become for our program,” said Quincy head coach J.D. Gravina. “She brings all the intangibles that we require of our girls. She works hard, she has a great attitude and she is a phenomenal student.”
Goldie is the third player from Clark County on the Quincy University roster. Courtney Shuman averaged 4.4 points and 4.0 rebounds as a freshman last season, and Kassidy Shuman will be a freshman this season.
The Quincy University women's basketball team is coming off a 20-10 record last year and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
The Lady Hawks open their 2008-09 season on Nov. 15 against Saginaw Valley State University in the Subway/Quincy Tip-Off Tournament.
