Rodeffer wins championship in playoff
HAMILTON, Ill. - Max Rodeffer sank a birdie on the fourth hole of a playoff to win the Deer Run Golf Course 2008 Club Championship. The event was held Aug. 16-17.
Rodeffer trailed Dan VanArsdale by three shots after the first round, but he forced a playoff by shooting a one-under-par 71. Rodeffer and VanArsdale each finished with a 146, but Rodeffer claimed the club championship in the playoff.
Zach Rodeffer matched his dad's final round score of 71 and finished third in the championship flight with a 147.
Gil Day won the first flight championship with a 153. Jeff Hammell was second with a 154, and Brice Baker and Jose Granera tied for third with a 156.
Daren Monroe won the second flight with a 176. Perry Harrison was second with a 177, and Ed Welkner took third with a 178.
Jim Hunter won the super senior title with a 150.
