A Keokuk resident was arrested Friday on methamphetamine-related charges.

Jason E. Knox, 29, 819 Franklin St., was arrested Friday for conspiracy to manufacture more than five grams of methamphetamine in the presence of a minor, a Class B felony, and receipt of a precursor substance for an unlawful purpose, a Class C felony.

If convicted, he could face up to 40 years in prison.

The arrest stems from an investigation by the task force into allegations Knox was involved in the manufacture of methamphetamine in the Keokuk area.

Friday, investigators with the task force executed a search warrant at his hotel room at the Keokuk Motor Lodge, 3764 Main, revealing items that indicated the use and manufacture of methamphetamine.

The Keokuk Police Department and Lee County Attorney's Office assisted the task force in the investigation.

Knox is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The Lee County Narcotics Task Force is funded in part by the U.S. Department of justice and the funds administered by the Iowa Governor's office of Drug Control Policy.
