The Courthouse Centennial Celebration takes place in Carthage, Ill., starting at 8 a.m. with the Memorial Hospital 5K walk/run.
Courthouse tours with office staff dressed in period costume will be given from 9 to 11 a.m. McNamara's Band will play at 11 a.m., followed by the centennial parade at noon.
Retired Judge Max Stewart will give the address during the program beginning at 1:30 p.m. A time capsule will be buried and a tree also will be planted during the program.
Quincy Preserves hosts the 33rd annual Behind Closed Doors Architectural Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Quincy, Ill.
This year's tour includes 332 Maine St., 129 N. Fourth St., 401 Delaware, 241 S. 18th St., 1200 S. 15th St., 2324 Jersey and 2923 Lincoln Hill SW.
Tickets are available at the door of each tour location. Lunch will be available at the Gardner Museum in Quincy from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $5.
A Shuman family benefit for Dave Shuman will be held from 2 to 11:45 p.m. at the Hamilton VFW in Hamilton, Ill.
The Keokuk Catholic School PTO will host a carnival from 5 to 8 p.m. at the old Cardinal Stritch building on Plank Road in Keokuk.
The Grand Theatre Commission sponsors an “An American Icon Review” at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Theatre in Keokuk to give the community a glimpse of the Grand's history.
Local talent will appear as Elvis, Sonny and Cher, Barbra Streisand, Patsy Cline and John Lennon among others.
Advance tickets are available at Keasling's, the Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce and Courtyard Books, from any commission member or by calling 524-1026.
Keokuk Y-Net will host a pre-show party at 5:30 p.m. at Mr. Lucky's across the street from the Grand Theatre. Admission to the party is $5 and includes refreshments.
