Titans to play for regional championship
BEARDSTOWN, Ill. - The West Hancock Titans advanced to the championship game of the Beardstown Regional with a 28-26, 25-23 win over Illini West Thursday.
West Hancock will face Beardstown, who won two matches Thursday. The Lady Tigers opened with a 25-23, 21-25, 25-19 win over Macomb, then defeated top-seed Rushville-Industry 28-26, 29-27 in the other semifinal.
The regional championship is 6 p.m. Saturday at Beardstown High School.
Marley Hall had nine kills, five digs and three blocks for West Hancock. Kerbee Koehler recorded seven kills, five digs and one ace serve, and Halie Schilson contributed four kills, one block, three ace serves and a team-high 22 digs.
Olivia Kerr added one ace serve, four digs and 23 assists. Becca Elschlager had three kills, three blocks, two ace serves and two digs, and Alaina Dennis finished with seven digs, three ace serves and one kill.
