Geraldine LaVon Satterly, 84, of Keokuk died at 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, in River Hills Village, Keokuk.
She was born on Feb. 16, 1924, in Mount Hamill, the daughter of Louis and Eva Maude Graham Curley.
She married Dale E. Satterly on March 22, 1948, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1992.
She had lived in Keokuk since June 1954. She was a member of Sharon Presbyterian Church in rural Lee County.
She also was a member and past president of the Keokuk Genealogical Society. She was a volunteer at the Keokuk Public Library and a member of two bridge clubs.
Her greatest joys were raising her children, watching her grandchildren grow up and seeing her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: a daughter, Elaine Woodring and her husband, Mike, of Keokuk; three sons, Clinton Satterly and his wife, Karen, of Beaumont, Texas, Glenn Satterly and his wife, Robin, of St. Louis and Alan Satterly and his wife, Lisa, of Rochester, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Amy Cochran and her husband, Jason, Mark Woodring and his wife, Kari, Anne Wear and her husband, Nathan, Jared Satterly, Karisa Satterly, Lucas Satterly and Dylan Satterly; five great-grandchildren, Jenna, Ava, Rhyse, Lauryn and Joel; an aunt, Paula Graham of Fort Madison; a brother-in law, Robert Satterly of Waynesville, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Mina Lou Wallace of Hamilton, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ivan, Bill and Bob Curley.
Services were held at 1 p.m. today in DeJong's Funeral Home, Keokuk, with the Rev. Daniel Hemken officiating.
Burial was in Sharon Cemetery, southwest of Mount Hamill.
Visitation was from 11 a.m. until the time of the service today at the funeral home, with family meeting friends during that time.
Memorials may be made to the Keokuk Public Library.
