CARTHAGE, Ill. –– Two men have been arrested in connection with a home invasion in rural Carthage, Ill., on March 27, according to Hancock County, Ill., Sheriff John Jefferson. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is seeking another man and woman who are still at large, Jefferson said.

Jefferson said his office responded to a call for help from Timothy Hornung, 21, of rural Carthage on a report of several individuals breaking into his home and physically battering him.

Aaron Beeson, 24, of Nauvoo, Ill., and Laurence Kite, 35, of Keokuk have been arrested on charges of home invasion. Beeson’s bond was set at $35,000. He posted $3,500 and was released from the Hancock County Jail. Kite is being held in the Lee County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Police also obtained arrest warrants for Carl Washburn, 36, and Kristin Watts, 19, both of Keokuk. Both are wanted for the charges of home invasion. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Washburn or Watts is asked to contact the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office at 217-357-2115.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office received help in the investigation from the Hamilton, Ill., Police Department, Keokuk Police Department and Lee County Narcotics Taske Force.
