Seigfried acquitted by jury

FORT MADISON –– Christopher Cleve Seigfried had said on his way to a jail cell at the Lee County Jail that he would probably get involuntary manslaughter for killing Clarence Eugene Overhulser during an argument on Jan. 25.

Likely water, sewer rate increases won’t stop leaking

HAMILTON, Ill. –– Water and sewer rates likely will increase by the end of the month in Hamilton, Ill., but not by enough to stop a steady leak in the city’s Water and Sewer Department budget.
