FORT MADISON – Kenneth “Rick” Richard Strausbaugh, 63, of Fort Madison died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Lexington Square in Keokuk.
He was born on July 31, 1949, in LaHarpe, Ill., the son of Roy and Betty Gracey Strausbaugh.
Rick graduated from Hamilton High School in Hamilton, Ill., with the Class of 1968.
He had been employed at Keokuk Steel Castings, KOKX Radio in Keokuk and at Memorial Hospital, Carthage, Ill., as an EMT.
He enjoyed creating wood craft projects and listening to oldies music. He was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan. He had volunteered as a coach for the Keokuk girls Little League. His favorite time of day was morning when he enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee.
Rick was a loving father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include: three daughters, Shannon Leann Evermon and her husband, Chuck, of Fort Madison, Amanda Sue Diveney and her husband, Darin, of Hamilton and Rickie Cassidy and her husband, Mike, of Fort Madison; seven grandchildren, Halley Dawn Evermon and Brittany Lynn Evermon of Keokuk, Marlana Sue Stephenson of Fort Madison, Mason Palmer Diveney and Micah James Diveney of Hamilton, Dani Rene Garner of Wayland, Mo., and Gage Michael Garner of Canton, Mo.; a brother, Byron Leroy Strausbaugh of Valley Center, Calif.; a sister, Margaret Karen Brower of Bowen, Ill., and his ex-wife, Marlene Sue Jobe of Warsaw, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter at birth, Tammy Sue Strausbaugh.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vigen Memorial Home, Keokuk, with the Rev. Mike McMillen officiating.
There will be no visitation.
