Here is a response to Homer Sherrill and his letter ‘Muslims to blame.’

For many years, through a process of the United States Citizens & Immigration Services (part of Homeland Security now) people from other countries and religions have applied for and have been allowed to move to the United States.

President Obama does not let people enter our country.

I’m surprised, Mr. Sherrill, you seem to have forgotten that part of history. The part where a VISA is required for visiting, to work, go  to school, to become a citizen of the U.S. Maybe Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck or Fox News forgot to mention the VISA requirement.

People who kill others have been around this country for 450 years or more. Remember the white men and the Indians, the Civil War that began in 1861, the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg where there was more than 40,000 casualties – Americans killing Americans. The Civil War ended in 1865, but the killings did not stop.

There is a record of hundreds of school shootings traced back to the 1760s (253 years ago). In the past years, we have had the mob wars, the gang wars, KKK, serial killers, domestic violence killings, people killed in restaurants, in hospitals, at weddings, at parties, at funerals, on-the-job shootings, and even road rage shootings. Do you remember Tim McVeigh and Oklahoma City, the Columbine school in Colorado, the Virginia Technical school, the Newton/Sandy Hook killings, the theatre shooting in Colorado, the Tucson shooting of Gabby Giffords and others? Way to many to list.

These were Americans killing Americans.

You should realize by now, there’s always a few bad apples in the basket, and we are all descendants of someone from a foreign country, even you.
