Lady Hawks defeat West Burlington in division volleyball match

BURLINGTON — The Central Lee Lady Hawks topped Notre Dame 26-24, 25-14, 25-20 in a SEI Superconference South Division volleyball match Thursday.

Traci Keller was 17 of 19 serving with one ace to lead Central Lee. Also contributing serves were: Jordan Greenfield, 12 of 13, two aces; Karlin Adam, 11 of 12, one ace; Haley Kirchner, 10 of 11, one ace; Raegan Mickelson, 9 of 11; and Bailey McCoy, 6 of 7.

Mickelson was 26 of 29 hitting with 12 kills to pace the Lady Hawks. Jada Mathison added nine kills on 13 of 16 hitting, and Taylor Burdette tallied six kills on 8 of 11 hitting. Kirchner and McCoy each had three kills, and Adam and Keller each finished with one kill.

Adam had a team-high 28 assists. Mickelson added three assists, and Burdette finished with one assist.

Keller led the Lady Hawks with 11 digs. Greenfield and Kirchner each had 10 digs. Adam and Mickelson each contributed eight digs, and Haley Edwards finished with three digs.

Central Lee, 13-10 overall and 8-4 in the division, plays at the Mount Pleasant Tournament Saturday.

Junior Varsity

Central Lee defeated Notre Dame 21-13, 21-12.

Paige Barker had four kills on 7 of 7 hitting to lead the Lady Hawks. Haley Edwards, Brittany Mathison, Emma Schau and Morgan Steffensmeier each had two kills, and Abby Kesslering, Reagan Shockley and Danita Wheatley each finished with one kill.

Hope Haley tallied six assists. Jozi Mickelson contributed five assists, and Barker finished with one assist.

Edwards had two blocks, while Mathison and Schau each finished with one block.

Steffensmeier was 9 of 11 serving with five aces. Also contributing serves were: Haley, 7 of 7, one ace; Mickelson, 6 of 6, one ace; Mathison, 6 of 7, two aces; Wheatley, 3 of 3; and Shockley, 3 of 5, one ace.

Chloe Berg had a team-high four digs. Wheatley added three digs, and Haley, Maddy McCoy, Mickelson, Schau and Steffensmeier each finished with two digs.

Central Lee, 4-8 overall and 3-5 in the division, hosts Harmony Tuesday.
